Nehru Arts and Science College (NASC), Coimbatore was established in 1998. The college is affiliated to Bharathiar University, Coimbatore, recognized by UGC with 2(f) and 12 (B) and accredited Grade A by NAAC. It is an ISO 9001:2015 and 14001:2004 certified institute. NASC offers 22 UG, 8 PG, 10 M. Phil. and 09 Ph. D. Programmes. The College is spread over a tranquil environment of sprawling 35 acres campus located in Thirumalayampalayam about 2.5 Km from NH 47 (connecting Coimbatore and Palakkad), 15 Km from Coimbatore City and 14 Km from Kerala border.

The college has emerged from the galaxy of Nehru Group of Institutions with the dictum, “Knowledge is wisdom”. The headquarters of the Trust is in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. he trust was constituted by Late. P. K. Das, the Founder Chairman. His legacy is being taken up by his sons Adv. Dr. P. Krishna Das as the Chairman and Managing Trustee and Dr. P. Krishnakumar as CEO and Secretary. The college started with just 04 programmes with 54 students.

Now, the College offers 22 UG, 8 PG, 10 M. Phil. and 09 Ph. D. Programmes. The College has been excelling consistently in producing University Ranks and the figure progressed to 204 Rank holders from the year 2006 onwards. NASC was accredited by NAAC with "B" Grade (CGPA 2.75) in 2009 and reaccredited with “A” Grade (CGPA 3.10) in 2014. They also got an autonomous status in 2017. 

The aim of the faculty is to provide quality education to the students by focusing on on three iconic and major elements which are Knowledge, Skill and Behaviour. Teaching is embedded with all significant features aided with technology and modern learning tools through e - content and e- learning. Some of the extra things offered by the college are Value Added Programmes, Placement Training, Outbound Training and Industrial Collaborations. 

One major attribute that differentiates this college from others is the fact that they encourage learn while you earn facility to the students. To empower this thought and initiative they also have Government approved Entrepreneur Development Cell. The college has incorporated many healthy practices to make the academic fabric more students’ friendly. They want to train their students in holistic way in all possible way to emerge as Responsible citizen for tomorrow.
